Please join together in sending deep condolences to the family of Nathaniel “Tanny” W. Ely who died on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Tanny grew up at Peoples Church as one of the children of John and Polly Ely (after whom the Ely Room across from the sanctuary is named).

Gatherings will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 according to the following schedule:

  • 1:00 p.m. Family Visitation at Peoples Church Unitarian Universalist

  • 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Peoples Church Unitarian Universalist

  • 3:00 p.m. Reception at Peoples Church Unitarian Universalist 

  • 4:00 p.m. Inurnment at Oak Hill Cemetery at the Ely Mausoleum
