We are quicky approaching “lift replacement week” at PCUU starting Monday, November 30! 101 Mobility is awaiting receipt of the lift equipment, but has been notified of a tentative ship date of Thursday, November 12. Of course, the lift, being manufactured in Canada, will have to spend a bit of time at Border Customs when entering the U.S.
The final site visit was completed by 101 staff on October 20, allowing them to confirm final measurements and preferred access to the building, that being the front church entrance off Gordon Ave.
Removal of the old lift AND installation of the new lift is scheduled for the week of November 30, with the intent to complete the work by Saturday, December 5. Please know that, while access to the church will be maintained throughout the week, it might be somewhat noisy and slightly inconvenient.
Please bear two things in mind as we move ahead:
After the lift installation is complete, it cannot be used until the State of Iowa does a final inspection.
You can help support this project by considering a contribution, which will be used to replace the funding for the lift and for future accessibility projects. Donations of ANY size are appreciated. If contributing, please indicate “Lift Replacement Project” on the memo line of your check or in a note attached to any cash donation. Thank you for your generosity!
