Sunday Social Belongs to All of Us
As we prepare for a new church year, let's all take a moment to recognize an important and longstanding part of our congregational life: Sunday Social.
Sunday Social happens because many people contribute in a variety of small ways. Together, these contributions help create the warm, welcoming community we value.
Everyone is invited to help make Sunday Social happen! Here are just a few ways to contribute:
You can contribute treats. Homemade and store-bought items are both welcome. Cookies, bars, muffins, quick breads, bagels, sliced cakes, appetizer-style snacks, and other easy-to-share items are especially helpful. If it's something you'd enjoy sharing with friends over coffee, chances are others will enjoy it too.
Donations can be brought on Sunday mornings or dropped off whenever you're at church. Items may be left in the kitchen, refrigerator, freezer, or the Andre Room counter. Please include a note with:
The item name
The date it was brought in
Whether it contains nuts, gluten, and/or dairy
This helps us label and serve it appropriately. Forms and pens are available to help with labeling.
You can help with setup or cleanup. Please use the Coffee & Conversation SignUp Genius. Even occasional help makes a difference.
You can contribute hospitality. One of the simplest and most meaningful ways to support Sunday Social is to help people feel welcome. Sit with someone who is alone. Introduce yourself to someone you don't know well. Invite a visitor into conversation. Help create the kind of community that keeps people coming back.
Sunday Social is about much more than coffee and treats. It's an opportunity to build relationships, strengthen our congregation, and practice hospitality together.
Sunday Social belongs to all of us; I am merely its current caretaker. Thank you to everyone who helps make it a warm and welcoming part of our congregational life.
