What to Expect in First Hour
First I want to say β formally and on the record β thank you, everyone, for such a warm and kind welcome into the community.
With that said, I can imagine there are many questions about what the coming year β particularly First Hour β will look like for the congregation. Let me take this opportunity to give a broad overview of the plans for First Hour, and this can start the many conversations I hope to have with each of you soon.
First Hour will be an age-inclusive program where we actively engage in Unitarian Universalist teachings before sitting down to worship together on those same teachings. With this new format, we hope to bring new ways of thinking about our shared Unitarian Universalist Values of justice, equity, transformation, pluralism, interdependence, generosity, and love. We welcome all ages, experience levels, abilities, and acquaintances to participate in First Hour as we explore the same themes of worship from a more active and interactive perspective.
Of course, the key to all of this is communication. I would love to talk with each of you and hear how you like to learn and what you like to do. Letβs sit down soon and get to know each other!
Until we meet next,
Hayden Hite
