Why Are We Grateful for Our Relationship With Voice of Christ?
Peoples Church continues to enjoy a mutually-rewarding relationship with Pastor Oswald and the Voice of Christ congregation. Not only do they scaffold our operating budget as renters, but they are partners in caring for the building we share.
As we think of our spiritual theme—Nurturing Gratitude—I want to share with you a bit more about Pastor Oswald.
Pastor Oswald Gbaguidi is the lead minister of the Voice of Christ congregation that rents space from PCUU – not only on Sunday afternoons, but also on Saturday evenings for their choir rehearsals.
This faith-filled group has been renting from PCUU since 2019 and helps to enliven the building with their children, music, and French.
Here are some fun facts about these long-time renters:
Most of the congregants are multilingual, speaking French, English, as well as a tribal language.
Most of them immigrated from Benin and Togo, with a few from Haiti.
Their worship services are bilingual: Pastor Oswald preaches in French and then it gets translated into English.
Pastor Oswald has a background in finance, spent his teenage years in Paris, France, and has a full-time job working with adults with special needs.
Pastor Oswald and his wife are the proud parents of 4 children.
