“Governing Together: The Quiet Rewards of Showing Up,” led by Robyn Miessler-Kubanek, PCUU Member.
Many of us have been taught that leadership comes with a cost: burnout, responsibility, and maybe even some risk. But what if showing up for one another is also one of the ways we come alive in community? In this service, we’ll get curious about the small acts of participation that hold a community together. What happens when leadership isn’t something a few people carry, but something we share? And what quiet rewards might we discover along the way, as belonging, purpose, and even joy begin to take shape?

“Leading Together,” led by Dr. Mel Rutherford, Pulpit Guest
Dr. Mel Rutherford is a transgender professor of psychology with a B.A. from Yale University and a doctorate from UC Santa Barbara. He stepped into a Glass Cliff opportunity as department chair during a time of crisis, drawing on lived experience of deep listening and perspective‑taking to guide his department into resilience and growth.
