Interfaith Alliance of Iowa Ad Says: Choose Love, Not ICE
PCUU partners with the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa to educate and advocate.
The national Interfaith Alliance office recently put their name on a very powerful ad calling out the harm by ICE and saying we Choose Love, not ICE when it comes to caring for our neighbors.
The campaign includes a clear message: In America, we love our neighbors.
The ad will air in both the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids television markets. Watch the 30-second ad here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eALKrOVaRGg&feature=youtu.be
The ad contrasts the excessive and violent conduct of federal immigration agents with the warmth, compassion and hospitality of the holiday season, and the command to “love thy neighbor.” It aims to mobilize religious Americans to demand that ICE and DHS stop attacking our neighbors, and calls upon our political and religious leaders to stand in solidarity against their cruelty.
While this Administration often claims to act in the name of “religious liberty” and to combat alleged “anti-Christian” bias, its aggressive attacks on our friends and neighbors and those who defend them are totally antithetical to the values of mercy, neighborliness, compassion, and charity. This is the striking hypocrisy that our campaign underscores. Citing quotes from the Bible does not absolve DHS from a clear truth: acts of exclusion, repression, and hate are exactly that—exclusive, repressive, and hateful.
