Know Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Assemble peacefully and exercise your First Amendment right to protest.

  • Protest in public forums (streets, sidewalks, parks) without a permit.

  • Respond to breaking events with a protest without needing a permit.

  • Carry signs, chant, and distribute flyers/leaflets on sidewalks and public spaces without a permit.

  • Record and photograph anything in plain view, include police and federal buildings.

  • Document violations — write down badge numbers, names, and details if your rights are infringed.

  • Stay silent if stopped — you don’t have to answer questions. Ask “Am I free to go?” If yes, walk away calmy.

  • Refuse searches of your body, belongings, or phone unless police have a warrant.

  • Legal protection — don’t sign, agree, or make statements without a lawyer present.

**If your rights are violation: stay calm, document, and contact legal support immediately.
