Hymn of the Month

The October 2026 Hymn of the Month is “Psalm for Change” by Tet Gallardo.

“Psalm for Change” started out as a poem written on Mahatma Gandhi Day during Tet’s visit to Khasi Hills in 2014. This poem was part of her sermon at the Smit Congregation there. During Tet’s tenure as Balázs Scholar at Starr King School for the Ministry in 2016–17, she set music to the words, made a few changes to suit the melody and chord progression, and wrote a refrain. Be the change is something Tet borrowed from Gandhi, a phrase that is in the song.
