Our First All Ages Forum!

Last Sunday, we held our first of seven multigenerational forums. We are focusing on the books “Social Change Now” and “We Are the Builders”, which are the UUA Common Read for this year.

We had 21 people attend, which was amazing! The group discussed what ecosystems are, what a social change ecosystem is, how each of us contributes to our social ecosystems, and what different roles people play in social change ecosystems, with lots of activities and even some running around!

Thanks to some great feedback from attendees, we learned a great deal on how to improve our next forums so that everyone feels more included. I think our next forum will be even better!

Our next multigenerational Social Change Forum will be on Sunday October 12 from 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM. We will be focusing on more deeply exploring the roles of “First Responders” and “Visionaries” in our social change ecosystem. No preparation is necessary, but if you would like to take time to think about these roles in a more formal way before the forum, you can read about them and reflect on them using the guides in the book “Social Change Now” by Deepa Iyer. You can purchase the book from the UUA InSpirit Bookstore or on Amazon.

All are welcome. You do not have to have attended the previous forum in order to attend the next one. If you have any questions, please contact Bridget Laflin, Interim Director of Faith Formation. We look forward to seeing you at the next forum!
